Celtics Roster 2019

The 2019-2020 Boston Celtics Season: A Season of Ups and Downs

A Strong Regular Season

The 2019-2020 Boston Celtics entered the season with high expectations. With a talented roster led by All-Stars Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker, the Celtics were expected to compete for an NBA championship. And for most of the regular season, they did just that. The Celtics finished the regular season with a record of 48-24, good for third place in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics' strong regular season was due in large part to their impressive offense. The Celtics led the NBA in scoring, averaging 119.7 points per game. They also shot the ball well, ranking among the top teams in the league in field goal percentage and three-point percentage. Defensively, the Celtics were not as impressive. They allowed opponents to score 112.9 points per game, which ranked them in the middle of the pack in the NBA. However, the Celtics were able to force turnovers and get stops when they needed them most.

A Disappointing Playoff Exit

The Celtics entered the playoffs as one of the favorites to win the championship. However, they were upset in the second round by the Miami Heat in five games. The Celtics struggled to score consistently in the playoffs, and they were unable to stop the Heat's Jimmy Butler. The Celtics' playoff exit was a disappointment, but it should not overshadow the progress they made during the regular season. The Celtics have a young and talented roster, and they should be contenders for an NBA championship in the years to come.
